A House Out of Time is the third book from the Time Travel Diaries of James Urquhart, science lecturer, living in 2015, and Elizabeth Bicester, Victorian Cambridge graduate, whom he met at a cricket match in 1873.
In A House out of Time, James and Elizabeth have “retired’ to a life of ease in a new time world in 2016 after helping the Martians save the Earth and their own planet.
Unfortunately, Elizabeth thought it would be a good idea to visit her ancestral home at Hamgreen to see what had become of it.
….Such is the curiosity of women.
You see, although Elizabeth’s house is always there, you can’t find it on a map. Yet, it’s been there since before the Great Comet arrived and usually there’s a Martian sitting on the gate post. The trouble is time inside the house is often different to that outside. It depends on which door you go through.
You really have to make sure you are wearing the right clothes when you pay a visit.
And if that’s not hard enough, they discover that time is shortening. The past is disappearing. Halley’s comet has caused a fracture in time. Luckily, Elizabeth is quite good at driving a space ship.
A House Out of Time by Bruce Macfarlane is available in paperback and Kindle on Amazon.
